The YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford and the YMCA of Niagara have hired Ancaster resident Kyla Kumar as vice-president of marketing and communications for the two associations.
“In her roles with St. Joseph’s, Kyla led and managed key corporate initiatives including the development and execution of a re-branding strategy, corporate social media, public affairs and many other functions including government and stakeholder engagement and issues management,” said Jason Brown, president and chief executive officer of the YMCA of Niagara. “We are very pleased to welcome Kyla to our teams in this new position.”
Kumar worked for the past 10 years at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton in the field of communications and marketing where she held a variety of progressive positions within their marketing and public affairs team. Most recently, she was public affairs manager at St. Joseph’s.
“This newly-created position is a collaborative initiative between our two YMCA associations,” said Jim Commerford, president and chief executive officer of the YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford. “Our new VP will provide senior strategic leadership in the areas of marketing and communications to both associations.”
